Hello! :-)
Alexander was one of the most important figures of our history.
And (as I learned in the School) he was a Pillar of the World's history :!:
Something else. My friend spend his honeymoon in Greece, and showed me some photos. Greece is simply breath-taking beautyful! I must to visit sometime!

...and never the blond, bisexual Mr-Nice-Guy (Maybe the Iron Maiden song, with the same title  )
LOL
Yeah, right
Personally I don't have a problem with showing him as bisexual, what annoys me most is the way that Hollywood just flattens everything. Alexander was one of the most important figures of our history. Greece wouldn't be the same without him. His role was far more complicated and he influenced the evolution of all the regions and the nations around his reign
(...)Alexander was not gay(...) We know how Hollywood blockbusters are like, don't we
Yep, we do
I think, those americans do not know anything about the world's history, exept their own Civil War.
In that movies, one of our greatest historic heroes, Attila is a sadistic, mercyless, despotic vanquisher, but this is not exactly the truth. Of course, he was a conqueror, like every other ruler in the prehistoric age, but he wasn't worst like others. (And he was ours, and I'm proud of him :!: ) In an american movie, the hungarian bad guy always called Attila :|
When some says the name of Alexander, I always think of the famous Warlord, who solved the Gordian Knot, and never the blond, bisexual Mr-Nice-Guy (Maybe the Iron Maiden song, with the same title  )
Never mind, just wanted to hear (read) an authentic opinion

Hi code4!
To be honest, I haven't seen the movie - and I don't know if I'll go and see it
In general, I don't like the way Hollywood deals with historical movies; maybe I'm a bit prejudiced of course
Alexander was not gay (in general
)
Well, in historical texts you may come across references that imply that, but of course this wasn't a characteristic of his that was so important. From what I've been told about the movie, the references made about his sexual life are innacurate and false in any case  I think the makers put them in so as to add a 'yellow press' (
) element in the movie
Some greeks got very shocked, that's true, and they want to sue the makers of the film
Now that's a shame :x Remember when we talked about the characteristics of each nation? Well, another characteritic of the greeks is that many times we manage to ridicule ourselves internationally
 I mean, it's just a movie and it's not even a greek one. We know how Hollywood blockbusters are like, don't we
...a voice from the darkness.....
Well, I myself am an optimist in general. However, I become to be pessimist right when someone kicks my ass...
So, I mean when things go wrong...
BTW, I haven't told You yet, but this is Your most beautiful avatar so far! I like girls with that "stuff" on their heads..sorry for saying "stuff", but I don't know the correct word for it.
Anyway, it fits to Greek girls well, doesn't it? I mean, I think, they often have one. BTW, do You have one?
Why? I love greeks since I've seen the movie, especially women and the mother-in-law![]()
Really?
LOL, then it's good
As a nation, we do have our good and bad sides (and certain bad sides are too bad, I'm afraid   ) as well
You know, in fact the characters were fine, but the thing that annoyed most greek people was the way the movie presented our way of thinking... I mean, we are not so old-fashioned concerning family traditions. Modern families are rather progressive, I must say. The movie's family was okay, but in fact this sort of family would fit better the decade of the 50ties, for instance, not the 21st century, LOL!
Why? I love greeks since I've seen the movie, especially women and the mother-in-law
You are nice and lovely people, even if a bit loud, but all natives have their own good and bad attributes. Hungarians are swearing like a trooper  even worst way, like italians!

sounds really sweet when spoken
Just like the greek
I've heard it in the "Big Fat Greek Weddig"-movie, and was pretty lovely.
All foreign languages are undiscovered universes, keeping many secrets. That's why I've started learn suomi (or finnish, anyway)

Köszönöm
Hi, Miss!
I think, that you don't even realized, what a great job to wrote to us in hungarian! Our language is one of the most difficult ones.
And congrats to OBig too. Nice work, Old One! (He hates the english, as we all know...
and I also need more practice  )
Once again, lot of respect to you, and best (Night)wishes!

Fallen from light... Reborn in shadow... Haunted by memories... Confronted by evil...
Én köszönöm neked (= I do thank You), that You made it! I knew You could!

Do you see it guys? Look at that girl! She is amazing! I've never seen anybody learning hungarian so fast! So pull up your socks, 'cause she will speak hungarian better than us! What a fantastic girl! *applause* *standing ovation*
I'm very-very proud of You, dear! *million kisses* You're the Best!
I laureate You the Honorary Hungarian title! And take my respect!
And I'm sure the others fully agree with me.
Fallen from light... Reborn in shadow... Haunted by memories... Confronted by evil...
Oh, no girl! Don't disappoint me, please!
You developed so quick, though I wrote You all this again:
Watch out for the high and deep vowels, nominative or transitive, and the assimilation of the connecting vowel between the verb and the suffix!
And You neglected the whole!
OK, I won't tease You with this anymore
; I know it's not easy... But You already know this!
Once again, for the last time, check these one by one:
Does the verb have a subject? (Yes: transitive; No: nominative)
So what suffix will we need?
Do we need a connecting vowel?
If we do: Is the last vowel of the verb deep or high?
How will that vowel assimilate to the ones in the word?
Easy, I'm holding Your hand, LOL!
Now, come on! Tell me: (I) thank you!
Fallen from light... Reborn in shadow... Haunted by memories... Confronted by evil...
Hi, dear! http://www.langkawi.dk/o66.gif
Boldog augusztust neked is! (Happy August for You too!)
I knew You can make it!
Well, 'köszönjük' really means: We thank you! (so its in plural). How would You say this: "I thank you!" ?
Note: just like in greek, You don't need the personal pronoun. 'To thank' means 'köszönni' in hungarian. Now, let's see what You have learned about conjugation! (Watch out for the high and deep vowels, nominative or transitive, and the assimilation of the connecting vowel between the verb and the suffix!) You'll make it just right!
About difficulties in english language...
Maybe I mentioned, that I learned English only for four years, but in a special english class. But... In the first year, we had an old grammarbook, which didn't use 'do' and 'does'. So we told everything so: 'Have you the notebook?' instead of 'Do you have the notebook?' (Sounds so strange, doesn't it? ). From that four years, I used this form for one year! At the beginning of the second year, we got the newest books... and I had to learn 'do' and 'does'. For me that was one of the hardest challenges. I needed some months to get used to it!
So, Köszönjük means Thank You, right?
It's funny what you say about English: I have a similar incident as well!
When I was learning English as a kid, in the first years, I had also problems in understanding the tenses, and I was really very confused! So one fine day I said "We have been lunch" LOL!!!
Can you imagine? My teacher almost killed me with the look she gave me

...a voice from the darkness.....
And voila..that's it!
Köszönjük, és mi is boldog augusztust kívánunk Neked! - Thank You, and we also wish You a happy August!
It's great to hear that our languages have common parts..that makes easier to learn them. I think, suffixes are always big problems when someone starts learning a new language..I remember, when we started to learn English in high school: "Béla stand(s!)", "some error(s)" (I just couldn't pick up a better word), problems with does, did, and so on..huh, tons of bugs, LOL!
I remember, once I said "What do You doing?" (hehe, this one simply doesn't exist), instead of "What are You doing?"..well, my english teacher just didn't enjoy that one...
And I still make serious errors... *sigh*
...a voice from the darkness.....
Leia, You're almost there...!
You only missed an "s" from the word "augusztus". And yes, the suffix was that "t"...
So now, how sounds it correctly?
Hungarian is one of the hardest languages, as many people thinks. We have several weird suffixes, LOL! But never give up! I believe in what Lacek said. And Your tryings are amazing..I mean I feel respect for You, because of that...
Fallen from light... Reborn in shadow... Haunted by memories... Confronted by evil...
Yeah girl, it's almost perfect!
But look at that 'August'... it's the subject of your sentence. Do you remember what I said about the suffix of the subject?
So try it once more! You make it very well! Some months, and you'll write your messages in hungarian, LOL!!!

Thank you
: to its end though..we rather use :!: ...
LOL!
You are right, Lacek
Now, a 't'? OK, I'm going to try again, but don't laugh at me
